My passion for transforming iconic 80s songs into unexpected Jazz covers continues! This 1983 Men at Work classic was written by frontman, Colin Hay. He said that the song reflected his fear that he might be consumed by success, especially with regard to his tendency toward addiction and how he must avoid the pitfalls of fame. It also contains the lyric that inspired the title of my upcoming album, 'Especially at Night'! This is the first time I've featured a clarinet, and Ken Peplowski brings the fire to this track. Mel Torme quoted: “Since the advent of Benny Goodman, there have been too few clarinetists to fill the void that Goodman left. Ken Peplowski is most certainly one of those few. The man is magic.” I loved working with Ken, and am so grateful that he has graced this track with his passion and artistry. More about Ken here: https://www.kenpeplowski.com/
